This restaurant is situated in an interesting late seventeenth century house and the owners claim it’s where the first deliberately grown celery was planted in the country. The contemporary menu usually has some interesting options to choose from, with the prices being moderate, although there is also a very reasonable set menu available as well. In addition to the more formal restaurant area, there is also a lounge section and a garden terrace for the warmer months.
The menu changes regularly, but when it’s available the Tandori spiced ham hock fritter is recommended, as is the pan fried halibut with braised fennel and a shellfish bisque.
The restaurant is open from 12.00 until 14.00 and from 19.00 until 22.00 on Mondays to Fridays, from 12.00 until 14.00 and from 18.30 until 22.00 on Saturdays and from 12.00 until 15.30 on Sundays.
